Few Changes In The Religious Vote
by Ron Gold on Nov.06, 2008, under Political, Religulous
Before the election, there was lots of talk about how the evangelicals might vote more Democratic, and that the Jewish vote could switch to the Republicans. But the CNN exit polling proves that there were no major changes in how different religious groups voted, and all the talk was overblown. Some examples:
–McCain won the white born-again vote 74% to 24%
–Obama won the Jewish vote 78% to 21%.
–Obama won the Catholic vote 54% to 45%.
–Among people with no religious preference, Obama won 75% to 23%.

Nine marijuana initiative victories yesterday
by DSTroy on Nov.05, 2008, under Fresh News, Political
MPP and our allies across the country passed nine out of 10 marijuana-related ballot initiatives yesterday … and also defeated a bad initiative. This makes yesterday the most successful day in MPP’s 14-year history.

Obama Wins!

I had planned on giving this more coverage. There has been several things to talk about…the implications, but there is still time. Just had to give a note of congratulation to Obama, and to a very gracious McCain. This is a time in life when we will all remember, ‘where we were’…quite an historic event. Not just a page, but a chapter has been turned… I’ve been sick despite my joy…so wish me luck, I have some Palin in my stomach, won’t shut up :).
What the Fuck! We can’t say Shit?

Unless Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., intervenes, some of the argument in the Supreme Court chamber next Tuesday morning may sound at times like a typical conversation in a seventh grade boys’ restroom — the uninhibited use of four-letter words.
And, if Roberts allows it, such a display of blue language will be heard on TV and radio — in the middle part of the day — across America, and may be read the next morning in many newspapers. But, apparently, not in every news outlet…

I am a proud supporter of Barack Obama. I have read his latest book (which received a Grammy for the audio-book edition). I have listened to many of the debates and followed both primaries and now the general election. I listen to NPR (National Public Radio) for about 2 hours through the course of each day on my commute to and from each of my jobs (my psychiatric clinic and working at **** County Psychiatric ER). I check the newspapers several times each week. I check CNN.com, MSNBC.com, watch both sides via YouTube, and follow NBC news on TV most mornings and check in with Fox “news” and try to research their frequent slurs on whomever they slander.
In my opinion, Barack Obama is more than qualified, and moreover, the most competent for the job.
According to the United States Constitution, Barack Obama is more than qualified.
I am grateful the age requirements for president are not “over 70″ and that “you must be a former POW.”
The arguments presented in your forward are not valid arguments.

“Sarah Palin’s War on Science”
by DSTroy on Oct.27, 2008, under Fresh News, Political
Christopher “don’t call me Chris” Hitchens is starting to lash out…I think he was too gung-ho about supporting the “war on terror” but he is a good advocate for anti-theism.
This is what the Republican Party has done to us this year: It has placed within reach of the Oval Office a woman who is a religious fanatic and a proud, boastful ignoramus. Those who despise science and learning are not anti-elitist. They are morally and intellectually slothful people who are secretly envious of the educated and the cultured. And those who prate of spiritual warfare and demons are not just “people of faith” but theocratic bullies. On Nov. 4, anyone who cares for the Constitution has a clear duty to repudiate this wickedness and stupidity.
