The Proof is in the Pompano Pudding
by DSTroy on Oct.17, 2008, under Fresh News, Political
Thank you to Jeffery Sanders to point out B.S. despite his political leanings. Here is what he saw on the wall of a McCain campaign office in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Jeffery said:he saw the sign Thursday when he stopped to pick up tickets for today’s McCain rally at Florida International University.
“To label someone as the next Hitler is beyond outrageous [and] offensive. And it needs to be addressed. And if Barack Obama does the same thing to McCain I would expect the same reaction,” he said. “That was not American.”
Sanders, 23, is a registered Republican. The Palm Beach Community College student said he is thinking about voting for Obama.
And for the Republican Chairman to act speechless? Come on, like no one knew it was there? What are we 6 years old again? Those excuses don’t work anymore.

Tribune: Barack Obama for president
by DSTroy on Oct.17, 2008, under Fresh News, Political
Chicago Tribune endorses Barack Obama, first time it has endorsed a Democrat in its 161 year history!
On Nov. 4 we’re going to elect a president to lead us through a perilous time and restore in us a common sense of national purpose.
The strongest candidate to do that is Sen. Barack Obama. The Tribune is proud to endorse him today for president of the United States.
Will this next part silence any critics?
We can provide some assurance. We have known Obama since he entered politics a dozen years ago. We have watched him, worked with him, argued with him as he rose from an effective state senator to an inspiring U.S. senator to the Democratic Party’s nominee for president.
We have tremendous confidence in his intellectual rigor, his moral compass and his ability to make sound, thoughtful, careful decisions. He is ready.
WWJB: What Would Jesus Brew
by Ron Gold on Oct.17, 2008, under Religulous
Appealing to a person’s religious beliefs as a way to exploit them is pretty low, but what about exploiting religion to sell beer? Well, that’s actually kind of cool:
In the beginning, there was a long line for Judgment Day ale.
Shortly after the doors opened on the 27th Great American Beer Festival, a crowd congregated at the booth offering that and other pours from The Lost Abbey of San Marcos, Calif., where the tap handle is a Celtic cross and the legacy of beer-brewing monks endures.
Standing under a banner promising “Inspired beers for Saints and Sinners Alike,” proprietor and former altar boy Tomme Arthur had a confession: He’s using God to sell some beer.
