The Virgin Mary Of Sharks

The Virgin Mary doesn’t have a monopoly on virgin births anymore, as a couple of sharks now share the feat:
Scientists have confirmed the second case of a “virgin birth” in a shark. In a study reported Friday in the Journal of Fish Biology, scientists said DNA testing proved that a pup carried by a female Atlantic blacktip shark in the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center contained no genetic material from a male.
The first documented case of asexual reproduction, or parthenogenesis, among sharks involved a pup born to a hammerhead at an Omaha, Neb., zoo.
Was it really asexual reproduction? To be good Christians, we should be open to the possibility that it was really a miracle, and there could now be two competing Jesus sharks out there.
What’s more, these sharks really get you thinking about Jesus and the Virgin Mary. Most people will say Jesus was born miraculously via a virgin birth. Now, we have a second theory, which is that Mary asexually reproduced. But once I started considering alternate possibilities, I think I discovered a third theory. Now, this idea of mine might seem unbelievable, or even impossible, but bear with me for a moment. What if Mary had secretly engaged in sexual intercourse, meaning she was not really a virgin, and therefore Jesus was conceived through the conventional means? I know it seems far-fetched, but try to keep an open mind. Call it a hunch, but something about this theory just seems to make sense.

I agree with your third theory… It was very taboo to get pregnant out of wedlock, plus even now we know that to betray your significant other (Joseph) is not something easily admitted to. And back in that day to be gullible was a way of life… So it makes sense. She didn’t want to admit to infidelity…everyone was expecting a virgin birth…what a convenient story…win-win. Now to keep up the lie…you brainwash your husband and he helps you brainwash your new miracle birth; and we all know how crazy people can evolve, when raised to be so…

I think I was watching a “Maury” episode where a woman tried the virgin birth story too, but the paternity test told a different story.
